On June 9, 2014 the National Tempus Office made a monitoring visit to the GIEP project. The event was hosted at the American University in Cairo and representatives from all Egyptian partners were present. Dr. Emanuela Colombo from the grant holder Politecnico di Milano gave a short overview on how the ideas for GIEP were born some six years ago. Since then, the project has come a long way and half of the project duration has already passed.
Dr. Hani Sewilam presented the current status of the different work packages to Dr. Doaa Samy and Dr. Yasser Elshayeb from the National Tempus Office. All of the work packages are on a track and many of the project deliverables have already been satisfyingly completed. All of the universities have completed the curriculum for the new Green master’s programmes and are now working on the accreditation process, as well as marketing the new programmes among different stakeholders. After the presentation, the remaining time was used for an open and constructive discussion.
